  • Food Handling Courses

    This unit is nationally accredited as SITXFSA101 Use hygienic practices for food safety.

    Do you need the Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety statement of attainment for your employer or just to add to your resume?

    Our 6-hour food handling course has been designed for employees.  Bed and Breakfast operators and volunteers involved in food preparation and provides basic hygiene principles for all food handlers. The food handling course allows you to work in bars and restaurants and any other venue which requires the handling food. There are no prerequisite courses required for this food handling course. 

    Learners are required to attend this unit dressed as though they were working in a café on the day. Neat clothing and covered shoes are a requirement.

  • RSA Courses

    In order to work in any licensed venue in Victoria, you must hold and RSA certificate accredited by the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR).  An RSA course at Castlemaine Continuing Education will provide you with a VCGLR RSA Certificate, which is all you need to serve alcohol in any bar, club, restaurant, café, pub or venue that sells alcohol in Victoria.

  • Licensees’ First Step

    New Entrant Training

    Castlemaine Continuing Education has been approved by the Director of VCGLR to deliver the Licensees’ First Step throughout Victoria. The Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) is required if you are applying for a Liquor Licence.

  • Cafe Skills for Industry - Expression of Interest

    CCE offers basic training in its fully equipped training kitchen. The course will provide barista training and coffee roasting experience, RSA training and basic food handling techniques while developing basic cooking and serving skills. This course is ideal for young people who have left school early and aren’t ready for assessment in accredited courses. Learners may then enrol to complete accredited hospitality units or courses with some confidence and experience.
