  • Art Pathways - Mid-year intake

    Art Pathways is a year long arts course where students learn and develop skills in drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking. Students build a comprehensive art folio over the year providing a pathway for further studies. The course caters to all levels of experience and is ideal for beginners.  Students exhibit their work in an end of year exhibition.

  • The Evening Salon

    Using both traditional and experimental drawing techniques each session takes you on a different road of discovery that not only gets you drawing the human figure more confidently but brings out possibilities for dynamic and exciting drawing. The course will cover elements such as proportion, structure, fore-shortening, mass, gesture, line, tone and experimentation. This course is suitable for all levels of ability. Beginners are most welcome.

  • Life Painting

    Led by artist Gabrielle Martin, finalist in the Archibald Prize and Doug Moran National Portrait Prize.  Expand your skills in oils and refine your skills in composition and flesh tones. All sessions include life model.

  • Throw Pots !!!

    Introductory pottery course for beginners tutored by renowned ceramic artist Dean Smith.

    Students will learn how to ‘throw’ pots on a pottery wheel to create a range of vessels such as Japanese tea bowls, noodle bowls, trinket bowls and pots. 

    All materials are included.

    Only 6 people in each course.

  • Art Steps

    Castlemaine Continuing Education is making it easier for people to take part in our iconic Art Pathways course through Art Steps. Especially designed for interested students who cannot commit to the full program. Art Steps allows you to dip in to the Art Pathways course on a pay-as-you-go basis. Call or visit our office to register and find a class that interests you - drawing, sculpture, painting or printmaking.

    Classes are held Wednesdays and Thursdays during school terms (see: Art Pathways classes).

    No previous art experience is necessary.

    Fee: $30 per 3 hour class; to enrol please contact CCE's office.
